A love of Northport. A love of friendship. And a new love of mahjong.

For as long as I can remember, I've dreamed of opening a store in Northport — a place that felt welcoming and connected to the community. I imagined a place where people could come together, discover something new, and leave with a smile.

Then came mahjong. I was first introduced to it by my college friends, who brought the game along on our girls' trips. What started as something fun to play together quickly became one of my favorite parts of our time together. There was something about sitting around the table — laughing, catching up, learning the game, and making memories — that made mahjong feel like so much more than a game. It was friendship, connection, and a little bit of friendly competition all in one.

That experience inspired Harbor Winds Mahjong — a place where the traditional game meets the relaxed, coastal spirit of Northport. Our goal is to create a welcoming destination for longtime players, beginners learning for the first time, and anyone looking for a fun way to connect with others.
